Scanning data back into ASISTS

By now, you should have downloaded the overprint file and used the Scantron software to generate the scannable attendance sheet.

Once you've done so, please try bubbling in the attendance, scanning the forms using the Scantron utility and then uploading the data into ASISTS.

Please give us feedback on the format of the overprint form and the scanning and uploading process.

Generating an Overprint File

The Overprint file refers to the data that will be used to generate the scannable document that ASISTS will generate.  ASISTS allows you to download a text file based on classes selected for attendance scanning.  Once you have downloaded and saved this file, you can use the Scantron utility to generate the scannable attendance form.

The instructions for generating the file are below.  Please give us your feedback on the process for selecting the classes, downloading the overprint file and generating the scannable attendance document.  The instructions are below.

Welcome

Hello everyone,

Welcome to the blog we created to collect feedback about the scanning function we have created in ASISTS.  This will allow ASISTS users to print attendance forms from ASISTS, bubble in hours on a daily basis and scan it back into ASISTS.

This is a first effort and we are already getting feedback from some of you about how it can be improved.

There will be a separate thread of discussion for each of the components of the scanning process.  Please add your comments to the appropriate thread and we will respond as quickly as possible.

Issue - Installation and Set up.

This discussion thread covers issues related to the installation of the Scantron/ASISTS software and the setup of the hardware.  Please note down any issues, though we should let you know that some or most of these issues will have to resolved with Scantron.  But we are happy to relay your questions to Scantron, so please note down any issues you are having in detail.

The instructions for installing the software were sent to you last week.  For your convenience, we have posted them below.
